1/350 JMSDF DDG-174 Kirishima WIP 2
Here's the continuation of building the 1/350 Kirishima...
I took a break from continuing snapfitting the PG 1/60 Strike Freedom...
This post covers mostly the removing of gaps and spaces, seamlines, and other problemtaic things before adding more details to the model ship using two ways, one with MR. SURFACER 500 and the other with TALCUM POWDER...

Some "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo 2010" Screenshots
After a few days of watching the movie, I've finally got a copy and decided to post some screencaps of some of my favorite scenes (without some of the major plot twists...)
Spoilers though...

1/350 JMSDF DDG-174 Kirishima WIP 1
Well my Blog header does say SCALE MODELS...
I actually got this kit last December with my dad (asked my dad actually), so I could consider this as Christmas present from him already...
So about this kit. It's a Trumpeter brand 1/350 Japanese Kongo class destroyer which was based from an Arleigh Burke class ship of the U.S. Navy. (Here's the Wikipedia page for more interesting info...) The model measures 46 cm in length, and is a lot different from Bandai Plamo kits. And you'll need at least a plastic cement to assemble the kit (and the usual modeling tools...)
Read on for the build progress... (pretty long one though, but not boring I hope...)

Well I'm not new to building model ships, this is actually my second kit. My first one was when I was about 10 years old (which I also asked my dad to get me...), it was a 1/700 aircraft carrier, I forgot the model, but I assembled it in about 2 hours flat. I just think it's cool to have an aircraft carrier model with all those planes lining up the deck.
I did paint the model's main deck and the aircraft's cockpits with some Tamiya enamels, I still got those old bottles but they're all dried up now... and they were applied like a 10 year old. but I was happy that time, sadly all that remains of it now was the lower hull...
That was about at least 10 years ago... 11... 10...

PG 1/60 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Box Opening
So here's the box opening for PG Strike Freedom...
First of all, this big kit won't be mine as it is for a friend of mine who loves the Gundam Seed series... (and no I'm not a hater of the series nor a fan...) This Gundam will (I think) be the one and only Gundam model he'd have so I'd be putting extra time and care AND PATIENCE in building this laser spamming monster...
As seen in the first image, the box is bigger and thicker than most MGs (naturally)... and I think assembling this kit is like assembling 6 MGs then COMBINE TO FORM DEVASTATOR!!!

MG 1/100 Aile Strike Gundam WIP 6
I felt lazy to modify the Aile Striker Pack and I was just itching to finish the thing, so I just went ahead and painted it, then applied the decals...
Now all the kit needs is a round of Mr. Softer on the decals and a topcoat to seal everything... then another custom base/stand which might take a while, so I'm not going to put this into the gallery at the moment...

MG 1/100 XXX-01D Gundam Deathscythe
Time to meet your maker!
I just snapfitted this kit a while ago and I must say this kit is pretty damn nice...
If you think that Wing Gundam Zero Custom is just all that elegant and beautiful with those angelic wings... then Gundam Deathscythe is pretty Badass...
I never thought this kit would be more good looking than any of the Wing Gundam versions... but after snapfitting the kit and striking it a few poses... I'm impressed... (see the action poses images...)

MG 1/100 Aile Strike Gundam WIP 5
I just applied dry-transfers and waterslide decals to the kit about two days ago (which was very addicting...)
Aile Striker Pack still needs work... which I still haven't started yet...

MG 1/100 Aile Strike Gundam WIP 4
I could say I'm 99% done on painting Strike Gundam (without the striker pack...), all it need now are a few fix ups... My HANDPAINTING skills aren't perfect yet but it could improve. (But I may have to settle with using spraycans whenever painting white next time...)
Painting the whole thing actually took me a week... I had problems by the time I applied the white paint due to the texture being thick, I had to sand them off lightly, and not a hundred percent, just to smoothen out the thick parts... then re-apply the white paint, then seal it again with Future...
read on the progress...

Thoughts on Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo 2010
So I just watched Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo... the 2010 live remake...
scratch that...
TOKI WO KAKERU SHOUJO!!! HELL YESSS!!!
I still couldn't get over the movie after it's been exactly 24 hours since I've watched it...
Ok so the screenshot above is from the net, I couldn't get a screenshot of mine since I don't have a copy of it YET... I just went over my friend's house immediately after he said he has one...
So here's some of my thoughts (laid out rather than shouting it all over the place)...
which might contain big ending spoilers...
