HYPER WEAPON La-01 SAZABI [WIP 3]

Painting...
I mixed my own set of colors using Tamiya Acrylics...
Acrylic paints was also used for washes or weathering...
It's about 95% done...
I just need to spray matte coating all over...

Testing colors...
   -Flat Black
-Gray Mix ( german gray 55%, gumetal 30%, silver 5%, light gray 10%...)
   -Darker Orange
   -Lighter Orange
all paint mixes are thinned 1:1...
estimates...

Black for base coat...

Gray Mix for the mechanical details/frames/internals...
then dry brusshing all over...

Silver highlights applied on springs...
light drybrushng on internals...
Gunmetal over Silver to tone it down...

Dark Orange, about 2-3 coats carefully applied...

Lighter Orange, 2-3 coats...

Decals...
I was choosing from a selection of Decals mostly from
Armour Model kits from TAMIYA, Dragon, Hobbyboss,
and the usual Bandai Zeon decals...
the Russian decals looked nice...
I got help from a friend for translations...
ended up saving them for future models...

Decided to hand paint custom Numbers and simple Identification Marks...

Hull Red, for washes... about 1:10 thinned...
I did a Gloss overcoat before the washes...
because the white paint are Vallejo paints thinned with water,
and the washes are Tamiya, which are mostly alcohol based...

Painting the orange was mostly trial and error...
I did base coats, darker washes, lighter color drybrushes, more washes, more drybrushes...
until I get wanted results...

Gray Mix drybrushes, mostly applied on the edges...
simulating paint scratches/fading...

 Desert Yellow washes...
to simulate dust...

Well...
almost done...
